Day of the Dead - Victoria
Day of the Dead. Mexico’s most important tradition has always been told by Victoria. And this year,we did it again, but in a completely unique way. Who’s waiting for you? is a fully hand-paintedanimated film that took one of Mexico’s oldest legends, the one of the Xoloitzcuintle, and rebuilt itthrough the visual language that has represented it the most: muralism. Inspired by artists like Siqueiros, Frida Kahlo, and Diego Rivera, who gave this sacred dog a special place in their own work, we brought the legend back into the imagery where it has always belonged. The film brings this ancient belief into the present, through the story of a shopkeeper and his dog. We follow their daily lives as their bond grows so strong, not even death can break it. A reminder that in Mexico no one is truly gone, and that on the other side… someone is waiting for us. More than 2,500 frames made entirely by hand, by more than 150 artists. Every detail was carefullycaptured and painted from scratch. From local shops to street markets, food stalls, vendors, neighbors, Mexico’s day-to-day life became the reference for every brushstroke and every color choice.
